Diploma Film Production
What About Me is a dramatic short film centered on Tom, a man in his mid-20s navigating the emotional aftermath of a difficult breakup. Seeking clarity and closure, Tom attends a therapy session in a modern-day office, thoughtfully designed by the therapist, Laura, from her former lounge. Tom’s primary goal is simply to endure the session, while Laura aims to connect with him on a deeper level and guide him toward confronting and processing his emotions. The film invites the audience to sit beside Tom, experiencing the raw and complex spectrum of his emotions—from disassociation to anger and ultimately, Hope.
The visual design mirrors this emotional journey, beginning with cold, harsh tones that reflect Tom’s initial state of detachment. As Tom gradually comes to terms with his feelings, the film transitions into warm, inviting hues, symbolizing his progress toward acceptance and emotional growth.
It was an absolute pleasure to work on set as the BTS photographer and videographer for What About Me. The version below was filmed and edited by me. The film was produced by the incredibly talented Sofia Carter, Nicholas Caccamo, and Harrison Revai, and directed by the visionary Daniel Smith.
